Eating Healthy (Mostly) at a Sports Grill

HomeBlogEating Healthy (Mostly) at a Sports Grill

Many of us are on a quest to eat a little healthier each day, but it’s hard to stay on track when there are so many options out there that aren’t just fast, but also cheap and delicious. While there is certainly nothing wrong with indulging every once and awhile, if you are actively trying to lose weight or want to meet a certain goal, it can be tough to go out with friends– especially when you feel like there’s nothing on the menu you can eat without sabotaging your goals. Here at Steamers Sports Pub, we want to help you feel like you can have a night out at a sports grill with friends while also not feeling regret, and here’s how.

Eating Healthy (Mostly) at a Sports Grill

  • Decide what you’ll eat beforehand and stick to it. Before you even enter your sports grill, check out the menu. Most places have menus online, and it’s much easier to find the healthier options when you aren’t starving and ready to order. Decide what you want to eat before you go, and then order without looking at the menu.
  • Don’t drink your calories. Alcohol and sports grills go hand in hand– and there is nothing wrong with a beer and a game! However, try to keep it to one carefully selected drink to avoid bloating, overeating, and a fuzzy head tomorrow.
  • Plan around your night out. If you know beforehand that you’re going out, eat an extra-healthy breakfast and lunch so that you can freely indulge without doing too much damage.
  • Watch your portions. Restaurant portions are notoriously huge. Try asking for a half portion of your food to go directly into a take-out box for later.
