Trivia nights are often filled with excitement, tension, learning, and application. Finally, you can take all your random facts and bits of knowledge and use them to do well at a trivia night. On the other hand, if you’re struggling to hold your own during trivia nights, here are a few ways that you can improve your internal trivia collection.

How to Prep for Trivia Nights

  • Stay updated: The world is changing constantly. It’s impossible to know everything out there, but you can at least start somewhere. Keeping up with everything that is going on– whether it be local news, politics, or sports stats– can help you have a more well-rounded, general knowledge that you can use in your next trivia night.
  • Practice trivia: Most people get really good at something by doing it over and over again. The same is true for trivia. You can improve your trivia skills by practicing before the big night. There are plenty of shows, games, apps, sites, and more for you to learn more trivia facts and put your knowledge to the (practice) test.
  • Research: You should try to see if you can learn what you’ll be up against. Research for trivia night can include looking into the venue, the theme, the current context, and other people who might be participating. For example, if the upcoming trivia night is all about sports, you should probably brush up on current and past sports facts.
